Mrs. Lee Ann Usery's 7th grade Reading/Language Arts class had the privilege of visiting with Newbery Honor Medal winner, Vince Vawter. They had recently read his book, Paperboy, and was able to ask pertinent questions about the characters in the story and about Mr. Vawter's personal perspective when writing this wonderful book. Paperboy is a poignant tale of an eleven year boy who grew up in Memphis in the 1950's. This book, based on the true childhood of Vince Vawter, allows readers to feel his struggles as a boy who faces life with an overwhelming stuttering problem. Paperboy is an exceptional read for young adults as well as adults.
